The regional consultation on the strategic Plan 2025 – 2028 took place today and was graced by the Deputy Secretary General, WCO, Mr. Ricardo Trevino Chapa, Mr. Vivekanand Ramburun, the ESA region Vice Chair and Director of Customs, Mauritius, Directors General and Commissioners of the East and Southern Africa Region and Director WCO ESA ROCB, Mr. Larry Liza.
The discussions centered on the development of the new WCO Strategy 2025-28 and deliberating on the current environmental scan and other arising matters of concern to Customs and Trade. These will form the foundations of our Regional Strategy as well.
As you will recall, the Governing Council recently reconstituted the ESA Strategy Working Group that will review our current strategy as well as develop the new Strategic Plan 2025-28 with a new focus that will take into account the current environment. This particular consultation, wouldn’t have therefore come at a better time. As always, we seek to align ourselves to the strategic direction of the WCO.
