The WCO ESA ROCB Director and representatives attended the 11th Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Summit 2025 themed “Beyond the frontiers: advancing digitalised, inclusive & customer centric revenue administration” which brought together different key stakeholders.

Among many discussions in relation to revenue administrations, the summit highlighted on the importance of digital infrastructure across agencies and borders. The discussion examined cross-border data sharing and system interoperability, emphasizing the need for integrated digital platforms to enhance efficiency and transparency.

The summit explored the use of big data in Customs, highlighting how advanced analytics and artificial intelligence are improving risk assessment, trade facilitation, and fraud detection. The plenary discussion underscored the importance of enhancing the joint coordinated border management practices in relation to smuggling and illicit trade, policy intervention and legal framework on data protection and insights in encouraging voluntary compliance.
