We are delighted to announce to WCO News readers that a digital edition of the magazine is now available at https://mag.wcoomd.org. The last five editions are online, including the latest edition which has just been released today, and older editions will be added progressively.
The June edition of the magazine focuses on the Harmonized System (HS), one of the WCO’s flagship instruments, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Several articles look at the history of the HS, its maintenance system, the critical role it plays for a number of actors, the challenges related to its implementation, and whether a structural revision is now necessary.
We also gathered, in the Focus section of the magazine, a series of articles addressing the topic of illicit financial flows (IFFs), including its links to the smuggling of minerals such as gold.
Several administrations and experts also took the time to share their experiences in data analysis, the protection of cultural goods, assessing the clearance process, managing epidemic crises, building practical skills, and the storage and destruction of counterfeit goods.
It has been our pleasure to produce another edition of WCO News, and we trust that you will enjoy reading it, whether it be the paper version or the new digital version that can be easily read on mobile devices.
