13th and 14th October 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The WCO ESA ROCB, represented by Director Larry Liza, is part of the TRALAC Annual Conference themed ‘𝑨𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂’𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍 𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓’. The sessions are focusing on: international trade and governance in the African context, post COVID era, climate change, and perspectives on the Digital Economy. It will also reflect on food insecurity in Africa, relating to climate and agriculture; the AfCFTA plans on trade and its framework for Africa’s industrialization, and movement of persons and integration.
The conference received opening remarks from the ambassadors of Sweden and Germany to Kenya, the Chair of the Tralac Board, and the Secretary General of the AfCFTA Secretariat. A number of notable persons are part of various panel discussions and deliberations during the conference which has a wide range of representation from Africa.
