Mr. Dhunraj Kassee – African Union Commission

Title: Senior Policy Officer, Customs Cooperation (African Union Commission)

Dhunraj Kassee has more than 13 years of international and regional experience in the field of international development, regional integration, trade facilitation and customs modernization having worked as Senior Policy Officer, Customs Cooperation in the Department of Economic Development Trade  Industry and Minerals, African Union Commission (AUC) based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia since January 2017 and as Programme Officer, Capacity Building (Customs) at the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat, Gaborone, Botswana since February 2010. Dhunraj worked for the Mauritius Revenue Authority as a Principal/Senior Customs expert for more than 16 years. Dhunraj has also served for the World Trade Organization as Consultant for a Trade Facilitation Needs Assessment in Mali in December 2013. Finally, he also acts as external examiner at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal for the module Customs Theory and Administration. He is currently studying Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) at the University of Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (Spain) and has a Master of Science (MSc)  in Project Management with University of Salford, Manchester;  Master of Customs Administration, Policy and Law (MCA) from the University of Münster, Germany;  Degree in Public Administration and Management from the University of Technology, Mauritius and a Diploma in Marketing and Management from the Institute of Commercial Management (UK).
