The leadership of the ESA Regional Code of Conduct on Integrity working group, chaired by Mauritius (Mr. Rajeev Gobin), convened today to discuss the implementation of the Regional Code of Conduct. This Code, designed with flexibility to accommodate legal variations across different jurisdictions, was reviewed and ratified during the 39th Regional Steering Group meeting held from 20th to 24th May 2024, and subsequently adopted at the 30th Governing Council meeting on 23rd and 24th May 2024.
During the meeting, members engaged in a detailed discussion on the proposed steps for implementation, including the action plan, roles and responsibilities of each member, timelines and milestones, as well as potential challenges and limitations.
Participants included representatives from Zambia (Ms. Violet Nanyangwe, Deputy Chair), Uganda (Ms. Gloria Nshekanabo, Secretariat), Mauritius (Ms. Ayesha Devi Sobrun) and Ms. Faith Mosongo (Programme Officer, WCO ESA ROCB).
