Mr. Lainkana Zafivanona
Director General, Madagascar
Current Director General of Customs of Madagascar, Zafivanona Ernest Lainkana is a visionary manager and leader, paying particular attention to the principle of accountability which he considers to be one of the fundamental principles of the Administration.
Holder of a doctorate in Economic Sciences from the University of Antananarivo, he also has a professional Master in Economic Policy Management distinguished by the World Bank, and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Customs Administration. He has completed the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) of the Office of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State, and has also benefited from several scholarships and internships awarded by the World Organization of Customs and by the Chinese Government.
After several years of experience in the private sector, he entered the public sphere in order to breathe new life into the Malagasy public administration and actively participate in the emergence of the country by contributing his achievements and putting his professionalism into practice. He thus started in the Customs Administration as an Inspector, then was promoted to 1st Head of Offices to culminate in the function of Director General.
Being a person of integrity and confidence, Zafivanona Ernest Lainkana advocates respect for ethics within his Administration and focuses on its modernization to make it a showcase Administration.
