The GC is taking place in Mauritius (12th – 13th May 2022). The meeting was opened by Mr. Sudhamo Lal, Director General of Mauritius Revenue Authority and ESA Deputy Vice Chair. Remarks were made by Honourable Renganaden Padayachy, the Guest of Honour and Mauritius Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, Mr. Kunio Mikuriya, the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization and Mr. Batsirai Chadzingwa, WCO ESA Vice Chair (Zimbabwe).
Discussions in the meeting are centering on the report of the 35th Regional Steering Group meeting (May 2022), the ROCB Annual Report, new regional strategy, the 2022-2025 WCO Strategic Plan, Finance and Governance Committee Report, Report of the Private Sector Consultation Group and WCO Reports. There will also be presentations by Candidates for the position of WCO Deputy Secretary General and vacant positions in ESA & WCO.
This is the third and last of three back-to-back regional meetings taking place in the island.
