The workshop on HS 2022 Changes for the ESA Region is currently ongoing. The Workshop has been organized by the World Customs Organization, East and Southern Africa, Regional Office for Capacity Building (WCO ESA ROCB), in cooperation with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA). The aim of the training is to improve tariff classification competency in the Region as we implement the changes brought forth by the Seventh Edition of the Harmonized System.
Mr. Larry Liza, the Director ROCB delivered his opening remarks, emphasizing the crucial role played by the Harmonized System in the facilitation of trade and information exchange, by harmonizing the description, classification and coding of goods in international trade. The workshop was officially opened by the ESA Region Vice Chair and Commissioner of Customs, Zimbabwe, Mr. Batsirai Chadzingwa who urged the participants to pay keen attention during the workshop and take note of the changes in the HS 2022.
