The conference, themed ‘Tax Justice Amid Multiple Crises’, brings together different organizations within the tax and customs systems from Africa and other countries outside the continent.
The conference is exploring the current global environment and the impact it has had on the African countries’ ability to raise resources for recovery fairly and equitably. It will also discuss recommendations on IFFs and the International Financial Architecture as well as Innovative Progressive Domestic Resource Mobilization Strategies, and within the context of climate change.
The WCO ESA Director Larry Liza will be speaking on maximizing Customs efficiencies to minimising IFFs. He will share on the progress made in implementing the IFF Action Plan in the region and how the existing WCO tools, guidelines and instruments are useful in helping Customs fight against the IFFs.
The meeting is co-organized by the Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), the African
Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) and the Centre for Trade Policy Development (CTPD).
